Hi everyone! After a break of several months the Bugs are back in action!
We had a great time last weekend at the Sorauren Festival, where we played our last gig with trombonist Scott Good, who is leaving imminently for Vancouver. God speed you, Dr. Good!
That gig was also our first with our new guitarist, Martin Loomer, who rocked the park, and “pinch hitter” (sub drummer) Chris Patheiger. Fun was had by all.
This Thursday you’ll have a chance to see the Bugs at one of our favourite haunts, The Local (396 Roncesvalles Avenue, just next to the Revue Cinema). Come out and welcome our new trombonist, Joel Green! We’ll have our new lineup: Michael Kaler: vocals and bass; Keith Denning: woodwinds; Joel Green: trombone; Martin Loomer, guitar; Joan Rusza, vocals…
What? Where’s our drummer? Neither Conny, our regular drummer, nor any of our subs can make it that night, so we’ve concocted something that might be a really really good idea, or a really really bad idea. It’s called:
BE A BUG FOR A SONG. We’ll have a very simple setup and some brushes. If you want to play drums with the Bugs for a song, all you need is rhythm and chutzpah!
See you Thursday!
